Shem obtained his bachelors degree in Psychology and a minor in coaching from Wisconsin Lutheran College in Milwaukee, WI and Master’s in clinical mental health counseling from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee with a certificate in trauma-informed care. Practicum experience took place at Outreach Community Health Centers and Aurora Healing Center. His clinical work experience also encompassed working in urban environments.
Shem believes in building a strong therapeutic relationship based on trust, genuineness, and compassion. His goal is to try and live out Jesus and his love to clients. He works to partner with them and take a strength-based approach and also to integrate a multicultural and trauma informed care perspective with a faith-based framework.
