God’s love heals lives. This is the fundamental reason I was drawn to working as a Christ-centered therapist and have been inspired to continue on this path for almost 25 years.

“Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent” (John 17:3).

“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God” (2 Corinthians 1:3-4).

Clinically speaking, the work of counseling also involves a deeper exploration, respect, and use of the scientific knowledge we have of God’s design of the human organism. The research being done in this field is very rich and helpful. Understanding these biological processes informs and shapes the counseling work. Actively utilizing this knowledge really does help lead a person to a much healthier and effective way of living.

“Listen to this, Job; stop and consider God’s wonders” (Job 37:14).

It is my hope that the therapeutic process is a facilitative mechanism for growth and healing for the whole person.

My husband and I have two children and live in Madison, WI. I am part of the rich believing community at Abiding Shepherd Lutheran Church in Cottage Grove, WI.
