In the spirit of Isaiah’s call, I choose to say, “Here am I; send me.” I pursued the path of counseling as an act of compassion, offering presence, understanding, and hope to those who are hurting. My purpose is to serve as a vessel of healing, walking alongside the brokenhearted with humility and empathy.
I specialize in working with couples and families and also provide therapy to individuals. My training has included work with diverse populations, beginning with underserved communities whose life experiences have often been challenging and heartbreaking. I am also trained in bottom-up approaches to trauma, which support deep, lasting healing by addressing the ways trauma is held in the body and nervous system and how it affects every aspect of a person’s interactions with others and the world. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Arizona, Idaho, and Washington.
A professor once encouraged me to pursue Marriage and Family Therapy, noting that my writing reflected a natural understanding of a systemic lens. My approach to therapy is grounded in systems theory, recognizing that anxiety, depression, and other struggles are often influenced by dynamics within immediate and extended family systems, as well as work, school, and other relational contexts. I also utilize narrative, collaborative, and strengths-based approaches to help clients understand their unique stories, clarify goals, and identify personal strengths and resources.
I believe deeply in the healing power of relationships. No matter the wounds, when individuals and families are willing to engage in the healing process, change is possible. I integrate evidence-based therapeutic modalities and, when requested by clients, incorporate God’s Word through a faith-based lens grounded in a belief in Jesus Christ as Savior.
